Parents and guardians in Reading can now book a Covid vaccine for their younger children at various local venues.

Since 7 April 2022, there have been four different venues to choose from, via the national vaccine booking system.

The four venues in Reading

  • Broad Street Mall mass vaccination centre
  • Boots pharmacy in Broad Street in the town centre
  • Newdays pharmacy, Coley Park
  • South Reading Community Centre, Whitley

Children aged 5-11 with no other underlying health conditions are being offered two doses of the vaccine, which are smaller amounts than those given to adults - at least 12 weeks apart.

If a child has had COVID-19 they will still get extra protection from the vaccine, but they will need to wait 12 weeks before getting vaccinated.

Families can make an informed choice about getting their child vaccinated by reading an NHS information leaflet on the Government website.

Those 5-11 year olds who are more at risk from the virus can already get two paediatric doses, eight weeks apart, and their GP or hospital specialist should be in touch to arrange this.
