How would Whitley people run the NHS?

We're looking for 10 Whitley residents to join us in a feedback session on 7 May 2019.

We are looking for Whitley residents who’d like to share their views on the future of local NHS services in an upcoming feedback session.

Healthwatch Reading is looking for at least 10 residents who’d be happy to give two hours of their time on Tuesday 7 May in exchange for a voucher of thanks and lunch.

The focus group starts at 11am at the South Reading Community Hub on Northumberland Avenue. It will pose questions such as:

  • what do you think of new government ideas like patients getting the right to video consultations with doctors as an alternative to face-to-face appointments?
  • Is the right mix of GP and community health services available for Whitley people in the right locations?
  • What makes a ‘healthy neighbourhood’, which could tackle some of the big killers such as heart and lung disease or strokes, and what can be done about obesity?

Healthwatch Reading will anonymously summarise the views shared with them and send these to NHS decision-makers. This is part of a bigger project undertaken by all local Healthwatch in England to help the NHS effectively plan how to spend their money.

If you want to take part, please email us at or telephone us on 0118 937 2295.
