Circuit Lane Surgery in Southcote has now received an official seal of approval, following years of ups and downs for patients.

The Care Quality Commission has rated the surgery ‘Good’ in all areas, including being safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led, following a comprehensive inspection in April 2019.

It comes a year after Circuit Lane was taken over by the same team that runs the well-regarded, Western Elms Surgery on Oxford Rd.

Before 1 April 2018, Circuit Lane had been put into special measures under the management of a Leeds-based company called OneMedicalGroup. During that time, Healthwatch Reading had spoken out on behalf of hundreds of patients who had disclosed evidence of unsafe care, long waits and understaffing.

In its report published on 27 June 2019, the CQC added that 38 comments cards it gave out to patients to collect feedback, were all positive about the surgery.
