Doctors at Melrose Surgery, on London Road, and Eldon Rd Surgery, have merged their businesses to create a single partnership that they say will benefit patients.

The two sites will continue to stay open but will share a clinical system, and patients will have more choice of staff: eight doctors and four practice nurses. The merger affects around 10,500 patients with Melrose Surgery and 3,200 at Eldon Road.

The merger took place on 1 October 2019, a year after originally planned.

Both surgeries are currently rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission.
