Pembroke Apartments, a home care service in Reading, has been rated overall as ‘good’ following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
In a report published on 8 January 2020, the CQC said nine people were receiving care from the service in their own homes or assisted living flats, at the time of the inspection.
People were supported by staff who were kind and caring and the care was delivered in a safe way.
However, the CQC also recommended improvements by managers in the way they checked and assured themselves of the quality of the service.
Pembroke Apartments is part of Pembroke Care, a locally run company which also includes Pembroke Lodge care home. This care home also got an overall good rating at its last CQC inspection.
The CQC is the national independent body that inspects all NHS and social care services and has legal powers to compel organisations to make improvements.
