University practice comes out top with patients

Results of the latest GP Patient Experience Survey have been published.

Patients at the University Health Centre and Whitley Villa Surgery are the most satisfied out of all 19 GP practices in Reading, according to latest results of a national survey.

Asked about their overall experience, 93% of patients with the University Medical Group gave its two surgeries the thumbs-up. Across our borough, 10 practices scored above the national average of 82% for overall experience.

The joint lowest rated practices were London Street Surgery and South Reading and Shinfield Group Medical Practice, where only 61% of patients described their overall experience as good.

South Reading and Shinfield also scored lowest in Reading for eight other questions, including the number of people (31%) finding it easy to get through on the phone and those who had a good, overall experience of making an appointment (40%).

The postal survey is carried out by Ipsos Mori for NHS England once a year, between January and March, and published in July.
