People across Reading took part in our first focus group held via Zoom in early December to give us their thoughts on a new health and wellbeing strategy for our town.
A joint strategy is being created for Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire and we’re helping public health experts gain insight on the top priorities of local people through a series of focus groups.
Our first focus group on 4 December 2020, invited Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people to share their thoughts. We heard a range of views on everything from language barriers to healthcare, mental health support in schools and the cost of gym memberships. We also held an interactive vote on various health and care priorities, which showed participants instant results.
We’re holding our next Zoom focus group in January with a class of sixth formers.
The general public in Reading can also share their views in an ongoing consultation asking people top rank 11 different priorities such as adult or young people’s mental health, physically active communities or tacking drug addiction.
People who complete the survey can enter a draw to win £100 of shopping vouchers.
The survey is open until 5pm on Friday, 29 January 2021.
If you can’t complete the survey online, request the survey in a different or more accessible format by emailing email@example.com.
