Figures up until 29 April, show 67,538 people in our borough had had their initial Covid-19 jab and 23,634 had received their second dose.

People should get more choice soon of where to get their vaccine, with two further pharmacies (Western Elms and Erleigh Rd) due to be added to local venues. Triangle Pharmacy in Tilehurst is already offering appointments via the national NHS booking site, along with the Madejeski Stadium.

Other figures, from Public Health Berkshire, show 45 people tested positive for coronavirus in Reading, in the week 16-22 April. This was a 10% increase in the rate of cases, to 27.3 people per 100,000 population.

The highest rates are in people aged 15-19 and 45-49 but there were no cases for children aged 5-9 or adults aged 60 and over.

The number of Covid patients in the Royal Berkshire Hospital is low, including only one person on a mechanical ventilator, as of 17th April.
