Join an online event about hospital's future
Reading's main hospital wants local people to have their say about its redevelopment in upcoming webinars.
The government has given Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust some 'seed funding' to help draw up redevelopment plans and so far three options are being considered: improve the buildings on the current site, rebuild a new hospital on the current site or build a brand new hospital somewhere else.
How to take part
People can choose to join one of two online discsussions on:
- Wednesday 10 November (3pm - 4.30pm)
- Wednesday 17 November (6pm - 7.30pm)
Email: buildingberkshiretogether@royalberkshire.nhs.uk to register to attend.
The hospital says it wants to create a network of people keen to have their say, make suggestions, challenge our ideas, question what we’re doing and ask us ‘have you thought of this?’.
'It’s really important we hear from as many local people as possible. We are extremely lucky to have a very diverse community around us and we want to ensure our plans really do involve everyone. It won’t be time consuming and we think you’ll find it really interesting. And, at some time in the future, you’ll be able to look up at the new hospital – wherever it is – and say ‘I helped do that’,' the hospital adds.
If people can't join the November events, there will be more opportunities in the future to get involved.
