Our Top 3 Priorities: Joint report with Reading Community Learning Centre

We visited women from an ethnic minority background, who attend the Reading Community Learning Centre, as part of a ‘Seldom Heard’ project to ensure people have a say over local services.

Summary

Women told us they wanted:

  • Access to interpreting services when using the NHS
  • Longer appointments if they do not speak English as first language
  • Time and appropriate information about locally available services

The Reading Community Learning Centre told us they wanted quicker, better and culturally sensitive support for people with mental health or social care issues.
