Our Top 3 Priorities: Joint report with Reading Mencap

We visited people with learning disabilities and a charity that supports them, as part of a ‘Seldom Heard’ project to ensure people have a say over local services.

Summary

People with learning disabilities told us they wanted:

  • NHS staff trained on learning disabilities
  • To be able to see the same GP each time and longer appointments
  • Enough, good quality, care
  • Reading Mencap told us they wanted people with learning disabilities to get proper care assessments, enough care, and have reasonable adjustments made for them
