Our Top 3 Priorities: Joint report with Reading Refugee Support Group

We visited people who get help from Reading Refugee Support Group, as part of a ‘Seldom Heard’ project to ensure people have a say over local services.

Refugees and asylum seekers in Reading told us they wanted:

  • Better access to interpreters
  • Accessible information about what services are available to them
  • Healthcare staff to fully explain what’s happening next with their care

Reading Refugee Support Group told us people needed timely and culturally appropriate mental health support, less barriers to treatment and recognition of the stress of acting as carers for family members.
