Dementia Audit of St Lukes (The Oaks unit)
This care home is one of seven we visited to do a ‘walk-around’ to see how the environment supports people with dementia, as part of our care homes project.
Summary
We carried out this audit jointly with the care home development manager on 3 April 2018.
Key findings
- We found many dementia-friendly features
- One area for improvement would be to add extra visual clues such as clocks
- The manager said the audit had been 'extremely useful'
